Academy Award winning actress Cate Blanchett has been cast in the upcoming fourth installment of the Indiana Jones franchise.  With the David Koepp drafted script being kept tightly under wraps, it is unclear what role Blanchett will play, but the Hollywood Reporter credits sources as saying it is a starring role.  Will she be taking on the role as Indy's newest love interest?  Only time will tell.

Blanchett won an Academy Award for best supporting actress for her role as Katharine Hepburn in The Aviator.  She will next be seen playing one of seven Bob Dylan's in Todd Hayne's I'm Not There.  Indiana Jones 4 is scheduled to begin filming in June for a May 2008 release.
