INDY 4 SET FOR MAJOR LICENSING PUSH
Jun 21st, 2007 6:18 PM

The release of Indiana Jones 4 may be a year away, but the licensing juggernaut is already in full swing. According to indianajones.com, deals have already been made with Hasbro, Lego, Hallmark, Random House, Burger King and MARS North America.

"It's been 19 years since the last film and we are sensing a huge pent-up demand for everything Indy," said President of Lucas Licensing Howard Roffman. "We're delighted that blue chip companies like these want to be part of the incredible experience of bringing Indy back to the big screen and introducing him to a whole new generation. The people who grew up with Indiana Jones have become today's parents. If our experience with Star Wars is any guide, we think they'll want to introduce their kids to Indy and share this great new adventure together."

In addition to Hasbro and Lego, which will be creating a full line of action figures, vehicles and games, LucasArts will be creating video games to tie-in with the release of the film. No news yet if a Lego: Indiana Jones video game will be available. LucasArts had great success with Lego: Star Wars and Lego: Star War II and recently announced the upcoming Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga from developer Traveller's Tales Games.
