SAMUEL JACKSON DESPERATE FOR INDY 4 ROLE
Aug 28th, 2007 1:58 PM

Actor Samuel Jackson is desperate for a role in next summer's Indiana Jones 4.  Not because he is such a fan of the franchise, but in order to stay ahead of Harrison Ford as the top box-office actor.

After appearing in several top grossing films, including Jurassic Park, The Incredibles and all three Star Wars prequels, Jackson took the crown from Harrison Ford.  Now he fears the all but assured success of the fourth Indiana Jones film will once again take Ford over-the-top.  Despite George Lucas promising him a role while filming the final chapter in the Star Wars saga, Jackson is still waiting for a role in the film.

"George said, 'Well, if you wanna stay in front of Harrison then we've got to figure out a way to get you in Raiders,' " explains Jackson.  "So now they're shooting Raiders and I've been calling him; he won't return my calls.  Can you believe that?  He's dogging me.  All I want to do is run across screen, I don't have to say anything.  I just wanna run through the movie, get my name in the credits, so I can stay in front of Harrison."

Between waiting for a role in Indiana Jones 4 and Iron Man, Mr. Jackson best be sure to keep his phone free for the next couple of months.
